Filmmaker Kevin Smith announced on his podcast that his pop culture-themed docu-series Comic Book Men won't return for an eighth season.
"After 96 episodes, the @ComicBookMenAMC are now the Cancelled Book Men. On a new #SModcast, hear Walt, Bry, Ming, Mike & I hold a Viking funeral for our @AMC_TV show and reminisce about the happy highlights of seven seasons! With big @TellEmSteveDave news: https://www.patreon.com/tellemstevedave," Smith tweeted Sunday with a link to the podcast.
Set in a New Jersey comic-book and memorabilia store, the show starred Smith and his friends Walt Flanagan, Bryan Johnson, Mike Zapcic and Ming Chen.
Smith suffered a massive heart attack in March, but has since been on the mend and resumed his stand-up comedy tour. He is also known for starring in, writing and directing the films Clerks, Dogma, Chasing Amy, Mallrats and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
