Former Wonder Girls singer Yubin is making her solo debut.
The 29-year-old K-pop star, born Kim Yu-bin, released the single album City Woman and a music video for the song "Ladies" on Tuesday.
The retro-inspired video shows Yubin driving in a vintage car and singing and dancing against a number of colorful backdrops. She told The Korea Herald her album is different from the Wonder Girls' retro-themed singles.
"The music of Wonder Girls had a more U.S. style and was more westernized, like the color red," the South Korean singer said. "My album is more oriental and fresh like the color blue."
"When I was a member of Wonder Girls, I was in love with retro, and I didn't know I would one day try this kind of music," she added.
The Wonder Girls released three studio albums and four EPs before disbanding in January 2017. Yubin remained with the Wonder Girls' agency, JYP Entertainment, following the group's disbandment.
