Ken Jeong is the first celebrity to join the judges in “America’s Got Talent” Season 13’s Judge Cuts round.
[post_ads]The comedian will sit alongside judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel, and he will help them decide which contestants should advance to the live show.
Teasers from this week’s episode of the hit NBC reality TV competition has been released. In one of the clips, contestant Aaron Chow dangerously shoots an apple over Klum’s head.
In the almost five-minute clip, the daredevil asks Jeong and Klum to join him up on stage. He asks the supermodel to take off her huge ring and then placed it inside an apple. Chow turns around while holding a green laser pointer before hitting the apple with a bow and arrow.
Following the contestant’s successful routine, he jokingly gives Klum’s ring to Jeong and asks him to put it in Klum’s finger. Klum and Jeong kiss each other on the lips.
Another leaked clip shows singer Christina Wells singing “Never Enough” from “The Greatest Showman.” The professional nurse belts out her signature high notes and breaks down at the end of her performance. Wells receives a standing ovation from all four judges and Jeong.
In the clip, Judge Cowell tells Wells that he has heard several renditions of “Never Enough” and expects the latter’s cover to be different. The nurse seems to have exceeded his expectations.
As of late, it is still unclear if both Chow and Wells will make it to the live show. After all, only half of the contestants will be given the opportunity to continue on in the competition.
In the coming weeks, more Judge Cuts episodes will air on “America’s Got Talent.” After which, the live shows will commence. All of the contestants that received the golden buzzer will no longer perform in the Judge Cuts rounds. Rather, they will go straight to the live show and compete for America’s vote.
Only one winner will be crowned at the end of the season, and he or she will bring home $1 million.
“America’s Got Talent” Season 13 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
