He and Phyllis are more committed than ever to make their relationship work following endless strife. However, that will force Billy to make a startling confession to his girlfriend as a result on the Thursday, Sept. 6 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”
Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Billy (Jason Thompson) have been through a lot in recent months on the CBS soap. Not only did she have to deal with Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) death and he became CEO of Jabot, her daughter Summer (Hunter King) has proven to be a destructive force in their lives. Not only did she get Billy to fall back into his bad habits with gambling, but she has also been making a play to seduce him, much to her mother’s chagrin. For the most part, Phyllis and Billy have handled the issues with Summer and her attempts to sleep with him, but unbeknownst to her mother, Billy hasn’t been so good when it comes to curbing his gambling addiction.
Now, as he is given the ability to compete in one of the most high-stakes poker tournaments that exist, Billy will decide to make an admission to Phyllis, revealing that he’s still gambling—and feels he needs to go to this particular tournament. He will also reveal he wants her by his side.
Whether she decided to go with him or not or is okay with him doing this tournament remains to be seen, but what neither one of them realizes is that his ability to compete in this particular tournament is part of a setup to try and initiate his downfall as CEO.
Though Ashley (Eileen Davidson) warned Kyle (Michael Mealor) that she doesn’t want to play dirty when it comes to taking Billy down, he hasn’t listened and has instead initiated this plot to draw Billy back into the gambling. He had learned from Summer that Billy had previously gambled away JaBoat, so he knows if Billy is in a high stake enough situation, he may make a critical mistake that will cost him his job. If he can get him to do it, then the plan to take him down will be complete.
